The Great Wall was the largest VFX project to be hubbed from the ILM Singapore studio, I was Lead Texture Artist on this project and my responsibility was to oversea all of the creature texturing and initially the Great Wall asset itself. I textured the main Tao Tai creatures with variations which were heavily duplicated to form massive crowds and the bigger Paladin creatures which also had multiple variants. There was also a queen creature which I supervised other artists to keep a consistent look. Many shots were fully CG and featured extreme close ups, so the assets had to be built with all resolutions and lighting conditions in mind. The Tai Tei had a lot of screen time and was used in many epic crowd shots and battles, so there were multiple LODs and damage variants to do too. Kiki Teo did the eyes and Daniel Gonzalez did the inside of the mouth

Thousands of creatures were simulated in some epic crowd shots.
