Ready Player One was one of my career highlights. My responsibility was to supervise all Texture and Lookdev work done by the ILM Singapore studio, which had about 40% of ILM's total award on the show, and included hundreds of characters.
For hand's on responsibility, I focused largely on zombies, as we had to create the transforming bathroom zombie and the dancing ballroom zombies for The Shining sequence. I did all textures and lookdev for the bathroom zombie and developed the base pass for all other zombies, working closely with the Model Supervisor, Michal Kriukow, to develop the overall look so they could be picked up by other team members to create the specific zombie variants.
For all other character work assigned to the Singapore studio I supervised a team of 10 artists doing daily rounds to push the quality. My team did hundreds of characters to create the various clans and unique player avatars in the Ready Player One universe.
