Pacific Rim was the joint first project I worked on with ILM, in parallel with Star Trek 2 where I supervised the asset teams on both projects in Singapore. Unfortunately by the time I joined the company the Jaegers and Kaiju creatures had been built, however there was an opportunity to work on the giant robots to do damage variants as they both take a beating in the climactic end battle, set under water. There was also a sequence added of Striker fighting a Kaiju in Sydney in daylight, where we had to upres the creature to hold up to hero standard and do some environment destruction work. It was a lot of fun working on these assets and it would set us up well for the next robot show where we would be involved from the start on Transformers 4.
Striker Jaeger (grey) taking a beating from the 'category 5' giant Kaiju. We also see Gypsy Danger Jaeger getting an arm ripped off. The Singapore team did the damage work for both bots, model and texture.
The additional sequence needing environment and Kaiju damage work together with a full upres of the creature.
Technical breakdown reel showing some of the art and damage in more detail.

ILM on the Jaegers specifically.
