Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - Quidditch Games

The quidditch scenes in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince were almost always full CG, with multiple hero digital doubles and a full CG environment. The digital doubles had very accurate matches to the actors and used Mova facial capture. Cloth and hair sims were integral as the wind passed over the flying characters interacting with the costume.

I did five of the digital double models and two of the textures. Costumes were a team effort as they are essentially duplicates with different shapes and textures so we split different components of the costumes out among different artists.

I learnt a lot on this project, it was an exercise in precision modelling and texturing and these shots still look good today considering this is quite an old project.

Some of the main Quidditch shots. Overall, I modelled five of the characters and textured two of them.

Training costumes, I did the two male digital doubles, and another female digital double in red coat I did model and textures for.
