The Man Who Fell To Earth

The Man Who Fell To Earth was my first opportunity to lead a whole 3D team as CG Supervisor for a 10 part episodic Sci-Fi TV project shown on Showtime, working with Outpost VFX in Bournemouth, London and Mumbai, and closely with Outpost production team and VFX Supervisor Jesper Kjölsrud. This was a challenging show to deliver on a TV budget as it included full CG sequences set on an alien planet and complex FX sim work to create the spaceship and Vaporator craft. There was also quite a wide variety of invisible effects including the need to add crowd to a sequence set in the Royal Albert Hall. I learnt a lot during this project as it was my first opportunity to lead Lighting, FX, Matchmove and Layout teams together with Asset and Environment teams I am used to working with, so thanks to Outpost VFX for giving me this opportunity!

The first episode, featuring the Vaporators on Anthea planet was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Single Episode 2022.
