Transformers Age of Extinction was the first major project that I was able to join from the start at ILM Singapore, having previously completed Star Trek 2 and Pacific Rim where I joined mid way through. This project was a great opportunity to get our teeth into some proper hero assets.
I supervised all model and texture work awarded to the Singapore studio and on this project we did a number of hero robot builds including two of the new Autobots, Crosshairs and Ronin, which had a lot of screentime and dialogue. The design of the Transformers was changed for this movie to give a more humanoid form to allow for more lifelike performances and facial motion.
For Crosshairs I did all textures using Mari, with model by Marko Chulev and lookdev by Adrien Saint Girons, it was a lot of fun!
